Health care, work life balance, cost of living, quality of food, prices of food, Education, dont really need a car, Crime, and many more. I loved what the USA used to be and even fought for it more than once.

We DO tip in Germany; the sad thing is that in many Restaurants the waiters have to hand in what they got as tip😢

Germany is known for horrible bureaucracy in all of Europe...I think they like keeping it that way.

Christmas is not just "the holidays". Before Christmas, winter solstice was already celebrated, December is the darkest and loneliest month of the year (in middle-north Europe), the markets and candles bring some comfort. Originally the date was therefore the 21. The 24/25 is artificial. The church just put their holiday on top of already existing traditions. The 24th in German is called "holy evening" therefore is it the holy day that is most celebrated, the evening Jesus was born. The 25th/26th is just for food and visiting family. There is also no Santa with reindeers. There is either the Weihnachtsmann or the christ child. Both have different origins and traditions. Then there is the holy Saint Nicholas who was a real live person and comes on the 6th of December. And father Christmas who used to make wooded toys for children in winter long before Christianity came to Europe. Everything you celebrate has roots is something that has long since been forgotten by the people who emigrated to the US. But really you could write books about all the traditions and whys and what nots of this, the main difference is that in the US many things got together and much tradition, history and culture was lost or mixed up. This was not the case in Europe. Christmas trees for example originated also in Germany, so did Christmas decoration and many other things that are now found all over the world.

I don't think anybody should promote Temu, Shein or any company like that. I like your other videos but this is disappointing, didn't expect this.

I have always had doubts about whether to continue my education in the US, mainly in New York City because I love it a lot, or in Germany. However, after considering the things you told me about New York, I think Germany would be a much better choice. Thank you for opening my eyes:)

I'm nearly 60 years old (German) and know a lot of people who did not hurry with the driving license because of the theoretical test and the much stuff you have to learn. You see - Germans are also annoyed about the theory 😁. And when I did the motorcycle driving license just about 15 years ago - I had to do it all again specified to motorcyles 🙄🤣🤣 By the way - I never understood the different rules for the different US states and also think it is really unfair! The states that don't have to do the German test don't have different road rules that are similar to Germany I guess? So why are they advantaged?

I think it is a bit riduculous that you censor everything in the US because outside you hear people swearing at each other all the time. So it apparently doesn't have any positive effect that you grow up with censoring so many things 😜 I agree to the nasty toilets - altghough the ones you pay for (on highway service stations for example) I experienced to be very clean. The paperwork thing is also changing - thank God - it was about time!

I just came back from visiting Stuttgart and Berlin for a study abroad trip and went to Frau Tonis (near check point Charlie) and created a custom perfume for myself. It was a wonderful experience. So if you haven’t checked it out I highly recommend. I was staying in the Alexanderplatz area had a ball and then travelled to Prague’s and Vienna.

Only ethnic minorities know what a loaded question "Where are you from?" is. Such a common question to ask meeting someone new who may not be from the same country as you. Most white people don't realise.

"Do I have ketchup on my face?" lol. This happens to a lot of ethnic minorities. Happened to me when I was in Germany as well. But generally I thought the Germans were okay.

I centaintly agree with all your comments and impressions about living in Germany. For most of my life I have enjoyed living here, it is a great country. Another place which is very much like Germany, and in some ways even better, is Poland. The most unknown country next to Germany, Poland is a whole adventure of beauty. Here one is also able you discover lots of world history, architecture, Art and nice people. Alone the capital Warsaw, for a mayor city, a very pleasant place to to visit. Go shopping there: great fashion, great Malls and lower prices. Greetings Luis😊

Im learning German via our school's online program called Edgenuity and its honestly a very 50/50 experience. On one hand, it does teach me words and phrases, but it doesn't teach me much casual German. I like Duo because it makes it more fun to learn it. I did take Spanish my first two years of high school, and having fun in a classroom and interacting with people and having healthy competition and games really helped me learn. Duo kinda does the same thing for me? Ive also found listening to German music has helped me learn too! Bands like Pisse and Rammstein have helped me to soldify my limited vocabulary. To anyone learning German and having a hard time with it: dont give up. Even on days when you dont want to do it, try to get five minutes in with your studies. Ive had days where i dont even want to do it ever again. But, not giving up and having aspirations for using my German (i want to study abroad in Germany) makes me keep going. Happy learning to whomever actually got this far in my yap sesh, and auf wiedersehen!

Okay! So I have watched the video now and the American thing is spot on. I moved back to America and in fact, I moved to Atl, GA. I just don't fit in. The mean girl vibes are strong and honestly... sometimes I don't know what to say in response. I'm not ready to get smart back because I wasn't expecting that I have to. At my job people have formed bonds that let me know I am not like them. The two people I have become friends with are from South Africa and India. I actually relate with them very well. I wish I could describe the outright microaggressions from black women that I have experienced and it is very odd. There were times I couldn't sleep because my heart and mind were abroad. Abroad feels more like home than America. The first time I left to go abroad, my plan was not to return to America. Even coming back to America and staying this long is a whole nother story. Thank you for sharing your experience. I know you only shared one experience but I could def relate and I appreciate that.

Zoe, I didn't get a chance to fully watch the video, but since I have been in America I have experienced a cultural shock. It just doesn't feel like home to me. I even have problems with people that I work with because of difference in attitude. People don't have respect. Many females have that mean girl thing going on. I just don't fit in and it makes me sad. I work at a school and the people I have found a good relationship in are from South Africa and India. I am not apart of anyone's circle and they make me know that.

Loved your video ! I’m also a vanilla-gourmand girlie. I was about to go and buy Fire at Will today (I live in Paris) which I fell in love with a couple weeks ago, but then I smelled Tihota and they are so similar that I didn’t know what to do anymore. Tihota I feel is even sweeter and lasts longer than Fire at Will but my god the price 😭 I also tested Un bois vanille by Serge Lutens and Spiritueuse Double Vanille by Guerlain. They are both gorgeous too. Bianco Latte for some reason smells dusty on me ? Anyway, I took free samples to make my decision, it’s going to be a tough one 😂

if you need something on Sunday. the nearest petrol station is your friend.. about twice the price of your local supermarket but still open 24/7 :) technically you have to arrive by car as the Sunday closure applies to petrol stations as well and they can (technically) only sell provisions to travellers :D In reality this will not be checked :)
